Using White as a Focal Point
The common notion when it comes to designing our home is using white as a background or a canvass to showcase colorful items. In fact, this is the usual approach when we decorate spaces in our house; which explains why most walls are painted with a touch of white. But what if we do the approach in reverse?

The color white can be a very powerful focal point at home when done properly. Instead of using it as a way to neutralize vibrant colors, the color white can also play as the main piece in any space. The trick is to pick decorative items and pieces in brown, black and gray. Sort of a monochromatic approach in your color selection and add a big piece of furniture in white. Just like the photo we have - the living room was decorated with deep gray areal carpet, pebbled walls and wooden furniture. Once you have achieved a monochromatic appeal, it is time to add the master piece - a pristine white couch.

You can also have the same approach in your bathroom. Choose a dark colored marble from wall to ceiling and add a white tub. This is using the same trick but a different area to work on.

Hopefully this decorative trick inspired you to look at the color white in a different hue. Try it yourself and see how dramatic the results are.
